CEO
Jane Hunter brings a wealth of experience in pioneering innovative technologies to commercial development in fields as diverse as aerospace and EV chargers. Prior to joining Superdielectrics, Jane worked at Tritium, an Australian company that designs, sells, manufactures and services fast DC chargers for electric vehicles, where she was CEO for 4 years. As part of this role, she led the firm’s fundraising and expansion efforts. Prior to joining Tritium, Jane held numerous senior roles at leading international businesses, including as COO of Phantom Works International, a disruptive technology division of Boeing Defense, Space & Security. At Phantom Works International, Jane was instrumental in the launch of the MQ-28 Ghost Bat aircraft, the first Australian-designed and built military aircraft in over 50 years. Other responsibilities include leading Phantom Works’ Projects and Business Operations which had a portfolio of 13 advanced technology projects with a combined value of around $170m. Before joining Boeing, she was a Commercial Manager in Information Technology at Echo Entertainment Group Ltd. A qualified lawyer, she began her career as a barrister in her home-country of Australia.

Marcus is an experienced FD/CFO, COO and Chartered Accountant (FCA) with 30 years’ experience. He previously worked with Jim and Don as CFO of ITM Power Plc from 2005-2009 and helped raise over £29m in ITM’s secondary raise on AIM. His long collaboration and working relationship with the founders of Superdielectrics brings a trusted and tested executive into the team.
Previously as CFO and COO of TheCityUK for 10 years, he was responsible for leading the company’s strategy development and day to day implementation, winning the Global Excellence 2017 award for the Industry Association CFO of the year. He represented TheCityUK in the media, on overseas projects in collaboration with British Embassies around the world and gave parliamentary evidence to the Treasury Select Committee and Lord’s Home Affairs Committees on various issues affecting the Financial and related Professional Services industries, one of the UK’s most successful industries.

Dr. Shelley Brown

Dr Brown holds a PhD in Electrochemical Engineering and joins Superdielectrics from Zinc, a London-based venture builder and investor that focuses on creating and scaling science-for-impact companies aimed at addressing the world's most pressing environmental challenges. Shelley spent her last year as Managing Director with responsibilities for end-to-end deal flow and fundraising.
Prior to Zinc, Shelley worked as the Battery Technology Adviser for bp, before becoming Chief of Staff to the Senior Vice President of Launchpad & Ventures bringing together and leading bp's incubator, growth accelerator (Launchpad) and capabilities in venture capital, technology commercialisation, intellectual asset management and technology insights to create a world-class innovation engine.

Ed Marshall
Head of Commercialisation
Dr Marshall holds a PhD in Polymer Chemistry and has a strong background in innovative technology commercialisation. He founded Plaxica in 2010, a bioplastics company that raised more than £20m in venture capital investment. Once Plaxica was acquired by the multinational manufacturing firm Sappi, Ed led its Biotech R&D team for over 5 years. Dr Marshall came to his new role at Superdielectrics from the Technology Transfer Office of the University of Cambridge where he was the Senior Business Development Manager.

Anne is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development (MCIPD). She is an accomplished senior leader, with 30 years of experience in the HR field across a range of sectors. Both strategically and operationally focused, Anne has managed teams providing Human Resources to organisations across the UK and overseas.

Professor Newborough brings with him a wealth of knowledge and contacts in the field of energy storage, as well as 14 years’ experience at ITM Power PLC, where he worked most recently as Development Director. Professor Newborough has 35 years’ post-doctoral experience in energy systems and hydrogen technology. He has published over 100 scientific papers and has over 4,500 citations. During his career he held the Scottish Power / Royal Academy of Engineering Research Chair in Energy and Environmental Engineering, Heriot Watt University, and previously, he was Professor of Energy Systems at Cranfield University and is currently a Visiting Professor at the University of Bath.
Professor David Fermin
Member of the Scientific Advisory Board
Professor David J Fermin is Professor of Electrochemistry, School of Chemistry, Cabot Institute for the Environment at the University of Bristol with over 15 years’ experience in dynamic electrochemistry, photoelectrochemistry and nanostructured electrodes. Previously, he held a 6 year Professorial Fellowship awarded by the Swiss National Science Foundation at the Universities of Berne and Bristol. In 2001, he was awarded the Tajima Prize of the International Society of Electrochemistry for his contributions to the fields of photoelectrochemistry and interfaces between two immiscible electrolyte solutions. His current research interests include solar fuels, active layers for photovoltaic systems and nanostructured materials for electrocatalysis.
Professor Ian Hamerton
Member of the Scientific Advisory Board
Professor Hamerton holds the Chair in Polymers and Composite Materials in the Bristol Composites Institute (ACCIS), Department of Aerospace Engineering at the University of Bristol. He has conducted research into high performance Polymers, advanced composites, and nanocomposites since 1987 and has extensive experience of industrial project management (he has been associated with research training income totalling £22.18M). He is currently the Deputy Director and Research Co-ordinator for the Bristol Composites Institute’s Centre for Doctoral Training in Composites Science, Engineering and Manufacturing.
